The Man Beyond the Work

I’ve found my way through a life shaped by deep curiosity, unexpected pivots, and a commitment to deepening in trust.

I’m a queer man, out since my late teens. I’ve lived and worked across six countries and traveled to more than 30 others, immersing myself in cultures, landscapes, and communities that have profoundly shaped me. I’ve navigated the tension between stability and adventure, following paths that led me to build a life in new places—from the Midwest to California, from monasteries in Taiwan to desert vision quests in the American Southwest.

I know what it is to reinvent yourself, to listen for what’s true even when it requires leaving behind something familiar. I’ve grown through career pivots, heartbreaks, clinical depression and anxiety, and existential reorientations. I’ve built and left careers, relationships, and homes when life called me forward.

I’m also a proud uncle, a lover of poetry and collaborative vocal improvisation, a deep believer in humor as medicine, and someone who will always say yes to a walk in the woods.

The Journey That Brought Me Here

I started my path toward deeply personal healing work with clients as so many do—by going to law school. Okay, you're right: my journey actually started well before that. But my time in law school proved a pivotal inflection point.

I graduated from Berkeley Law, passed the notoriously difficult California Bar Exam, and went on to practice at one of the largest law firms in the country. I worked closely with entrepreneurs, guiding founders as they built their visions from scratch. Later, I helped counsel developers of affordable housing through dauntingly complex legal and financial structures. I was doing work that mattered—but something was missing.

Despite all my “success,” I felt a deep, unshakable sense of disconnection.

In law school, I hit my personal rock bottom. I was excelling by every external metric, but inside, I felt profoundly lost—like a stranger in my own life. I had spent years treating my mind as the only part of me worth trusting, while my emotions, my body, my capacity for intuition were all discarded and unrecognized allies.

Then one day a therapist invited me to do something I had never done before: to actually be with emotion in my body. To bring my awareness to the sadness in my throat, the tension in my hands, the anxiety humming underneath the surface. It was like discovering a door in a wall I hadn’t realized was there.

I stepped through it.

That step led me into a journey of transformation—through mindfulness, somatic therapy, breathwork, meditation, and psychedelic ceremonies. I spent almost seven years focused on reclaiming my sense of being at home in myself: two with an emotionally-focused therapist, and another 4.5 years in deep transpersonal work with an underground psychedelic guide. I sat with teachers who guided me not just toward knowledge, but toward embodied wisdom.

Now, my work is about guiding others through that same door—out of the mind’s maze and into a deeper relationship with their own presence, intuition, and embodied self.

How My Training Shapes the Work We’ll Do Together

Healing isn’t about collecting tools. It’s about learning how to be with yourself in a way that lets those tools actually serve you.

I bring together the spacious and clarifying presence of a mediator, the rigorous insight of an attorney, and the transformative power of a skilled practitioner of somatic therapy—blending decades of personal practice and professional training, including:

✔️ Hakomi Somatic Therapy (2-Year Comprehensive Training)
✔️ Berkeley Law, Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in Mediation
✔️ Certified Breathwork Facilitator, Breath of Gold
✔️ Certified in Restorative Justice & Community Mediation
✔️ Wild Mind Intensive & Desert Vision Quest with Animas Valley Institute
✔️ 4.5+ Years of Guided, Ceremonial Psychedelic Medicine Work
✔️ Monastic Immersion & Buddhist Training (Taiwan & Thailand)
✔️ Bachelor of Arts in World Religions, Boston University

These aren’t just credentials—they are lived experiences. They are the maps I’ve followed in my own journey home.

And you don’t need these maps—you have your own. My role is simply to walk beside you, helping you listen more deeply to the guidance already alive in you.

I know what it’s like to long for a deeper relationship with yourself. I know what it’s like to feel stuck—and what it takes to move through it. If this resonates, let’s talk. I offer a free first session so you can feel into this work for yourself.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I know what it’s like to feel adrift in your own life, to feel trapped in patterns that no longer serve you, to wonder if transformation is truly possible. I also know, from lived experience, that it is.

I believe in this work because I have seen what happens when we learn to listen—to ourselves, to our bodies, to the parts of us that have been waiting to be heard.

My approach isn’t about fixing you—because you are not broken.

It’s about meeting yourself in a new way.
